For professional bodies

Online elections and assemblies for professional bodies.

Elections to the governing board and assembly votes, with a secret ballot and a record that any member can verify.

Elections with candidate lists

Candidate lists, blank votes and preferential voting when several positions are elected at once. Single transferable vote available from the Starter plan.

Scrutineers for each candidate list

Each slate can appoint someone to oversee the process from their own read‑only portal. Available from the Starter plan.

Online and in person

Anyone who prefers to vote in person does so at a polling station with a ballot box, and their votes are included in the same count, with a record that any member can verify.

How it works

A typical case: elections to the governing board

  1. Import the electoral roll of members from a CSV or Excel file.
  2. Each candidate list appoints its scrutineers, who follow the process from their own portal.
  3. Members vote online during the voting period and, if needed, at an in-person polling station at headquarters.
  4. At the close, all votes are tallied and the sealed record is available to anyone who wishes to verify it.

Frequently asked questions

What people usually ask before getting started.

Is the result legally valid?

Demokratian provides the technical tool and a verifiable record. Validity depends on your professional body’s statutes and the applicable regulations: these should cover electronic voting, and you should check this with your legal advisers before calling the election.

Can the leadership see how each person voted?

No. Once a vote has been recorded, not even an administrator with full access to the database can reconstruct who voted for what.

What if the electoral roll is very large?

The standard plans cover electoral rolls of several thousand people, and above that there is a tailored plan. Write to us with the size of the electoral roll and the dates.
